Seahawks Trade Receiver DK Metcalf To Pittsburgh Steelers

Seahawks.com Senior Reporter The Seahawks traded DK Metcalf to the Steelers Thursday, sending the two-time Pro-Bowl receiver to Pittsburgh in exchange for a second-round pick, No. 52 overall. The Seahawks are also sending a sixth-round pick (No.185) to Pittsburgh and getting back a seventh-rounder (No. 223) as part of the deal. The move marks the end of a very productive six-year run in Seattle for Metcalf, who arrived as a 2019 second-round pick out of Mississippi. Metcalf eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark three times in six seasons, including a single-season franchise record 1,303 yards in 2020, and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2020 and 2023, also earning second-team All-Pro honors in 2020. With 66 catches for 992 yards and five touchdowns in 2024, Metcalf became one of two receivers, along with Randy Moss, to begin his NFL career with at least 50 catches, 900 yards and five touchdowns in each of his first six seasons. This trade, along with last week’s release of Tyler Lockett, leaves Jaxon Smith-Njigba as the team’s clear No. 1 receiver. A 2023 first-round pick, Smith-Njigba made the Pro Bowl last season after recording 100 receptions for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns. Following trades of Metcalf and quarterback Geno Smith, the Seahawks now have 10 total draft picks, including five in the first three rounds. A post shared by DeKaylin Metcalf (@dk14) The Seahawks drafted wide receiver DK Metcalf with the 64th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and he would go on to play six seasons in Seattle, totaling 438 receptions, 6,324 yards and 48 receiving touchdowns.
